How to make the perfect salt rim? See below.Shake in a cocktail shaker. Take that gin and grapefruit juice and shake it together in a cocktail shaker with 4 ice cubes. We like adding 1 dash simple syrup or maple syrup, which rounds out the flavor (otherwise it’s very tart).Strain into a glass and add ice. Strain the drink into the glass and add ice. For the salt rim on this Salty Dog, we used flaky sea salt. You can also use kosher salt if you have it, which has large grains. Just don’t use iodized salt: it’s much too salt-forward! Here are a few tips to making a salt rim:
Spread the salt on a plate in an even layer.Take a lime wedge and cut a notch in the middle: then slide it around the rim of the glass. This moistens the glass rim without having to use your fingers.To rim the glass, the salt should be on the outside rim the glass only, not the inside where it can fall into the drink. To do this, tilt the glass and gently turn so the outside edge goes into the salt.Shake off any loose salt into the sink.

This naturally sweetened cocktail recipe uses just three simple ingredients:
rosé winestrawberrieshoneyFrose is very simple to make: the hardest part is thinking ahead. If you can, whip up the frose recipe the night before, then blend and serve the day of. Despite the name, it’s not just rose that’s frozen: simply freezing rose makes it bitter and flat-tasting. A froze recipe includes sugar to offset the bitterness (usually made as a simple syrup), and strawberries to add some color and additional flavor.How to store it!
Because this all-natural frose is frozen, you can keep the blended rose and strawberry mixture in your freezer for a few days before serving it. As long as you keep it in a sealed container, your frose should keep well in the freezer! Try not to keep it frozen for too long though, since the fresh strawberries and the rose wine lose some of their flavor once frozen.

So, how do you caramelize onions? It takes a bit of time, but it’s absolutely worth it for the flavor! Because the onions are finely chopped here, sauteing the onions takes only 25 minutes. If the onions are in larger slices, caramelizing onions can sometimes take up to 45 minutes to get that golden brown color! Here’s what to do:
Finely chop the onions.Saute them for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often, until golden brown.Add the red wine and saute until the wine is cooked off, about 10 minutes more. That’s it!For the caramelized onion dip
1/4 cup olive oil4 large white onions1/4 cup red wine1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt or kosher salt, plus more as needed2 cups sour cream1 cup Greek yogurt1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauceDash of freshly ground black pepperMake the caramelized onion dip: Finely chop the onions. In a large saucepan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the onions and saute for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often, until golden brown. Add the red wine and saute until the wine is cooked off, about 10 minutes more. Remove from the heat, add the salt, and let cool.Once cooled, transfer to a medium mixing bowl and fold in the sour cream, yogurt, and soy sauce. Season with pepper and more salt, if needed. Cover and transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

We added a can of black beans to this salsa fresca to give it a little more texture and nice boost of protein and carbs. The black beans also make this dip more filling, which keeps us from eating the entire container of it in one sitting.

Simply prep all the ingredients, then stir them together in a serving bowl. Season the salsa with kosher salt to taste, and add more lime juice if desired. Alex whipped up this herb popcorn a few weeks ago for a party, and it accidentally turned out so delicious that we wanted to share it with you. It’s savory, buttery, and has little gooey bits of herbs throughout. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was!
How to make herb popcorn? First of all, let’s talk popcorn methods. Alex and I have a few different methods we like to use:
Stovetop method: For the best flavored popcorn, we use the stovetop method. Here’s our tried and true method for How to Make Popcorn on the Stove. You can use a normal pot, or a stovetop popcorn popper. Air popper: For a spin on healthy popcorn, we use an air popper. The air popper is truly easy to use — even easier than stovetop, and it doesn’t require any oil!

Here’s our master recipe for how to boil eggs and then make deviled eggs.Step 1: Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and rest for 15 minutes.
The first step in how to make easy deviled eggs: hard boiling them! A few tips about making hard boiled eggs: older eggs are easier to peel. So if you can arrange it, it’s nice to use eggs that have been in the refrigerator for a bit.
To boil your eggs, place them in the bottom of a pot and cover them with 1 inch of water. Bring the water to a boil. As soon as it boils, remove the pot from the heat, cover it, and let the eggs sit for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Let the eggs sit in an ice bath for 15 minutes.
Prepare a large bowl of ice water. When the eggs are done in the pot, place them directly into the bowl of ice water. Let them sit for 15 minutes.Step 3: Peel the eggs, cut them in half, and remove the yolk.
Here’s a tip on how to peel hard boiled eggs! Gently tap the larger end of the egg so that the shell crushes (it has an air bubble which makes it easy to peel). Then start to peel off the shell. Continue peeling the shell until all the pieces are removed. Then cut each egg in half and remove the yolk with a spoon.Step 4: Mix the yolks with yogurt, mayo, and mustard.
Finally, here’s how to make the filling for the easy deviled eggs! Mix the egg yolks with Greek yogurt, mayo, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard and salt. There are two methods for mixing: you can mash the yolks in a bowl with a fork and then mix in the remaining ingredients. However, this can sometimes make the consistency lumpy.
If you’re planning to pipe your filling using a pastry bag it’s helpful to mix the filling in a stand mixer or electric mixer. This helps it to get totally creamy with out lumps. If there are any lumps in the pastry bag, it makes it very difficult to pipe out the filling.
Step 5: Fill the eggs, garnish and serve!
Use a pastry bag to pipe the filling into the deviled eggs, or simply use a spoon! The pastry bag is helpful if you want it to look totally uniform like the ones in the photo. But of course, it’s not necessary: you can just scoop it back in with a spoon! Garnish with dried dill and smoked paprika, or a mixture of both for a festive feel. You also can use normal paprika: we just like the smoky flair that the smoked paprika adds. It’s nice if you can find it!
